District 97 Board Approves Amended 2022-23 School Calendar

During its regular meeting Dec. 14, the District 97 Board of Education approved an amended calendar for the 2022-23 school year that includes additional holidays and aligns with recent updates to the Oak Park and River Forest High School District 200 calendar.

District 97 School Calendar Highlights 2022-23

Under the new 2022-23 calendar, District 97 will observe three additional holidays: Rosh Hashanah (Sept. 26), Yom Kippur (Oct. 5), and Juneteenth (June 19), which is now a federal holiday.

In order to accommodate the changes and ensure that our calendar meets the state’s requirements for instructional days (176), the last day of school will now be June 9, 2023. The dates for institute days, family-teacher conferences, trimester end dates and winter break have also been modified. The first day of school (Aug. 24, 2022) remained the same.

A summary of the changes from the original 2022-23 draft calendar is included below.
