District 97 is pleased to announce an exciting new program designed to help incoming sixth-graders transition smoothly from elementary to middle school. "District 97 Middle School Connection" is a three-day program aimed at building confidence, fostering connections, and providing a strong start for students entering Brooks and Julian Middle Schools this fall.
The program will take place from August 13-15, 2024, from 9 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. at each middle school. All incoming sixth-graders are welcome to attend, though participation is not mandatory.
Why Middle School Connection?
Transitioning from elementary to middle school can be both exciting and nerve-wracking. Students are not only changing school buildings but also undergoing significant developmental changes. District 97 Middle School Connection aims to build confidence, create connections, and ensure a smooth start at Brooks Middle School.

Location: Brooks Middle School and Julian Middle School
Cost: Free for all District 97 incoming sixth-graders
Transportation: Provided for students assigned to a bus route
Lunch: Provided at no cost
