District 97 is working to finalize the 2025-26 school calendar and anticipate bringing it forward in February 2025. At this time, we anticipate the following:
- Middle School Connection: Week of Aug. 11, 2025
This is an optional transition opportunity for rising sixth-grade students.
- Classes begin for students: Week of Aug. 18, 2025
- Winter break: Monday, Dec. 22, 2025 through Friday, Jan. 2, 2026
- Spring break: Monday, March 30, 2026 through Friday, April 3, 2026
- Last day of classes: TBD - between May 30, 2026, and June 6, 2026
We understand that these dates are important for staff and community planning, and we are prioritizing getting the calendar approved as early as possible in 2025.
To ensure consistency for families across our community, District 97 aligns its calendar development process with that of Oak Park and River Forest High School (District 200) and River Forest District 90. The 2025-26 calendar for District 200 was approved on Nov. 21, 2024, and District 90's calendar was approved this week.
Please note that the final calendar dates are subject to approval by the District 97 Board of Education.
