Staying Home after Testing Positive for COVID-19
Following IDPH guidelines (updated March 1, 2024), individuals who test positive for COVID-19 must stay home for at least 24 hours until both are true:
- The individual has been fever-free without using fever-reducing medications; and
- Symptoms are improving overall.
Upon return and for the next five days, CDC recommends enhancing hygiene practices, wearing a well-fitted mask and physical distance from others when indoors as much as possible. Masks are strongly recommended around others for five days (through Day 10).
Reporting Absences Due to COVID-19
- Families should report student absences as usual using their school's attendance line.
- Staff should report their absence using Frontline.
*NOTE FOR D97 STAFF - STATE LAW CHANGE: COVID-19 Leave Time/End of Public Health Emergency
