Device Collection

Dear Parent(s)/Guardian(s),

As we prepare for the end of the school year, we want to make sure that we continue to maximize student access to technology, but also leave our staff with enough time to collect devices, assess their condition, and administer any fees associated with damaged or missing items. We believe we can achieve both of these important goals by implementing the following schedule for returning equipment.

Middle Schools

  • Julian (6th-8th) - May 24, 2018

  • Brooks (6th-8th) - May 25, 2018

Elementary Schools

  • Beye and Lincoln (Grades 3 to 5) - May 29, 2018; 8 a.m. to 11 a.m.

  • Mann (Grades 3 to 5) and Irving (Grades 3 & 5) - May 29, 2018; noon to 2:55 p.m.

  • Hatch and Longfellow (Grades 3 to 5) - May 30, 2018; 8 a.m. to 11 a.m.

  • Whittier and Holmes (Grades 3 to 5) - May 30, 2018; noon to 1:55 p.m.

  • Irving (Grade 4) - May 30, 2018; 8 a.m. to 9:30 a.m.

In order to help expedite this process, we ask that you please make sure your child brings the following items to school on the designated return date for his/her building:

  • iPad in working condition

  • Working charging brick

  • Working power cord

  • Otterbox case

  • Remove any stickers or any adhesives that your child has added (*Please do not remove the district asset tag)

  • Chromebook in working condition

  • Working charging adaptor (Chromebook)

  • Remove any stickers or any adhesives that your child has added (*Please do not remove the district asset tag)

If items are missing or damaged, families will be charged a replacement fee. The cost of each item is below.

Elementary Schools Middle Schools
  • iPad - $297

  • Charging Brick - $10.00

  • Power Cord - $10.00

  • Otterbox Case - $18.00 (beyond normal wear and tear)*

  • Chromebook: $357

* Please note that Otterbox will be replacing all of our iPad cases for 3rd-5th grade due to issues with cases not fitting very well this year at no additional cost to the district.  We will need to send back all of the current cases to Otterbox for this replacement.

Families will be able to pay these fees via the district’s web store, with cash or by check.

Please email [email protected] if you have questions or need additional information about this process.

Best,
