Interactive, Modern Music Event / Thursday, March 10

Participate in or Witness a performance of Terry Riley’s In C

In C consists of 53 short, numbered musical phrases, lasting from half a beat to 32 beats; each phrase may be repeated an arbitrary number of times. Each musician has control over which phrase they play.  Players are encouraged to play the phrases starting at different times, even if they are playing the same phrase.  In this way, although the melodic content of the music is predetermined, In C has elements of aleatoric music to it, which leaves elements that are left to chance. LOST and FOUND will be Donated or Discarded on March 24

Clothing, lunch boxes, and other items left on the lost and found tables in the commons will be either donated or discarded on the afternoon of Thursday, March 24 at 4:15pm. We cannot leave lunch boxes and remnants of food in the commons over spring break. This would attract rodents to our building.  We will be reminding our students daily to take home their belongings. Feel free to stop by the building in between now and the 24th if you would like to have a look for yourself.

Spring Break

Spring Break is Friday, March 25 through Friday, April 1. School will resume on Monday, April 4.

Sincerely,

Dr. Todd T. Fitzgerald
