Week of May 20
Research for Better Teaching Parent Workshops a Success
We had our last Research for Better Teaching (RBT) parent workshop on Tuesday, May 3. As I shared with you last month, I invited all of our parents/guardians to participate in learning sessions focusing on Growth Mindset, Effective Effort, and Goal Setting. In addition to the information related to Growth Mindset and Effective Effort, I am providing you with the content that was shared with parents related to Goal Setting. Again, I encourage you to look over these materials. You may decide to put some of these ideas into practice with your student(s).
Tribute to Excellence
We will have our annual "Tribute to Excellence" program on the morning of Thursday, June 2 starting at 9:15. On this day, students are honored for going above and beyond inside and outside of the classroom. The students that will be recognized received an invitation to attend the program during advisory this week. An email blast was also sent to the parents/guardians of these students inviting them to be a part of the program. Some of the activities students will be recognized for are as follows:
Math Club, West 40 Speech and Drama Festival, Track and Field State Qualifiers/Champions, Robotics team, Girls volleyball, and many more. The program typically last about 75-90 minutes. We hope to see many of you at Julian Middle School on the morning of Thursday, June 2.
