Information for District 97's Board of Education Meeting on July 13

District 97 is holding board meetings in accordance with the state's current COVID-19 guidelines. Regular board meetings are currently being held on site for District 97 Board of Education members only. 

Given COVID-19 considerations, the administration has determined that it is not feasible to allow members of the public to attend the meeting in-person. The public may participate in board meetings through Zoom. Links will be included in meeting agendas, which are posted at https://www.op97.org/boe/meeting-packets.

Public Comment

Members of the public will be offered an opportunity to address the board during the public comment portion of the meeting via video/telephone access with prior notice to the District. For those who wish to address the board live during the meeting, please email [email protected] before 4 p.m. on the day of the board meeting, and a Zoom link will be provided. Your name will be called when it is your time to speak. Alternatively, members of the public may submit public comments by email prior to the board meeting, to be announced during the public comment portion of the meeting. Email submissions should be made by 7 p.m. on the date of the meeting and sent to [email protected].

Notice of Public Hearing: District 97 E-Learning Program

During the July 13 meeting, a public hearing will be held on the proposed District 97 E-Learning Program. Click here to access the E-Learning plan information.

The purpose of said hearing will be to receive public comment on the proposed E-Learning Program which, if approved, will permit students’ instruction to be received electronically while students are not physically present in lieu of the district’s scheduled emergency days. This program is allowed under Section 10-20.56 of the School Code [105 ILCS 5/10-20.56]. Notification of this hearing is provided to families and is posted in the newspaper more than 10 days prior to the scheduled Public Hearing.

If approved, the E-Learning Program will be implemented for a three-year term.
