A Community Vision for District 97 Graduates

Our Portrait of an Oak Park 8th Grade Graduate is our community's big vision for ALL our youth. It calls for well-rounded development in eight dimensions. It represents our aspirations for students in District 97 and is a guiding framework designed to ensure that every graduate is prepared to succeed in an ever-changing world. 

In the spirit of backward design, the Portrait defines what we want our students to know and be able to do by the time they leave District 97. and helps us create pathways for getting there, starting in Pre-K and kindergarten. By establishing a clear vision, we can align our teaching, programs, and community partnerships to create meaningful learning experiences that empower our youth, both in and out of the classroom.
