Hephzibah

Each year, this award-winning program serves a population of nearly 600 school-aged children from diverse socio-economic backgrounds — fulfilling a critical need in the Oak Park community for affordable, school-age daycare.

Our daycare activities are designed to help children achieve their full social, emotional and intellectual potential by fostering the development of a wide variety of skills, as well as social competence and a positive self-image. Children gain experience in areas such as arts and crafts, group games, movement and music, field trips and physical activities, such as swimming and ice skating.

Children from Oak Park whose parents/guardians are working, in school or in training are eligible for Hephzibah’s Daycare program. Twenty percent of the children we serve come from low-income households. Fees are assessed on a sliding scale and offset by financial aid when necessary to ensure that children from low-income families have the same opportunities for growth and enrichment as their peers. Children are accepted as space allows, according to DCFS licensing regulations, on a first-come, first-served basis.
