Many thanks to everyone who attended our Curriculum Night! We had a wonderful turnout and have received overwhelmingly positive feedback from both parents and teachers. Our dedicated teachers did a fantastic job. If you were not able to make it to Curriculum Night, please feel free to contact your child’s teacher for the information you missed.

We are also excited to offer the Oak Park Public Library Book Bike at this year's Harvest dinner, as long as the weather cooperates! Be sure to bring your Oak Park Public Library Card to check out books from the Book Bike. If you don't have a library card, you can get one at the Book Bike. We will also have a table set up for completing background checks at Taste of Hatch Patch Harvest Dinner. Please stop by to complete yours so that you are able to chaperone field trips and volunteer during the school day. Otherwise Background checks will be by appointment only, by emailing Ellen McKay at [email protected].

Fourth and fifth grade parents please be on the lookout for your child’s PARCC scores as well as a letter from Dr. Kelley which were sent home today. The Partnership for Assessment Readiness for College and Careers (PARCC) test is the state-mandated tests our 3rd-5th graders participated in last spring.

Please join me in welcoming our new GTD teacher, Ms. Alicia Jenkins, to our Hatch family! Ms. Jenkins joins us from Chicago Public Schools. She has over a decade of experience in education. She has taught middle school math as well as K-5 general education. She has served as an instructional coach with a specialty in math, science and data analysis for instructional design. We are so excited she is here!

Note from Sra. Bruno:

In case you missed me at curriculum night, I am sending you some information about our Curriculum Night Flyer, my contact information, as well as the information about the social media platforms the Spanish department uses as part of communication to our school communities. Feel free to contact me with any questions, comments, or concerns! Mil gracias!

Just a reminder that if your student is going to be late, please let the office know and also tell them if they will be requiring a hot lunch before 9am.

Please see the District 97 News for updates on what’s happening across Oak Park Schools!

PTO Reminders:

Taste of Hatch Patch – Ticket deadline is today. Only 50 tickets will be sold at the door for this wonderful Fall tradition. It takes place Tuesday from 6:00 to 8:00 pm on the Hatch blacktop.

Join Hatch families and staff for a delicious taste showcasing the produce harvested from the school's vegetable garden and orchard. Main courses and desserts crafted by local restaurants and volunteers, music by a New Orleans brass band and a raffle. Purchase your dinner and raffle tickets here by the end of today 9/15.

We’re asking all Hatch families to consider volunteering for one shift at Taste. We need help with preparation, serving and cleanup for the event. Parents of older students may wish to sign up with their child for a role. Sign up to volunteer here.
