We had a lovely Walk to School Day on Wednesday. Thank you to Mr. Cruz, our green team and parent volunteers who helped make the experience so much fun. In classrooms, our students have been wrapping up their first reading and writing units and kicking off their non-fiction units. Be sure to ask your child about the types of books they are studying!
You may have already received communication from your child’s teacher regarding conferences, which will be held the week of October 22nd. Our amazing PTO will be providing child care on our late night, Thursday the 25th, from 12:30-7pm. Students will be dismissed at 11:00am both Thursday the 25th and Friday the 26th. While you are here for conferences, please take a moment to check the Lost and Found. All items not claimed will be donated to families in need after conference week. Also, please write your child’s name in any item that might find its way to the Lost and Found.
The Fall Celebration is at the end of this month. We encourage food free celebrations. However, if room parents plan to serve food as part of the classroom celebration, the food plan must be submitted to Nurse Rossi via e-mail no later than October 17th. If you have not submitted a plan by October 17th, then it is assumed that no food will be served at the celebration. The food chosen should be from the approved food list. Please let Nurse Rossi know as soon as possible what you plan to serve. Thank you so much for your patience and cooperation to ensure that we have a safe celebration for all of our children.
Picture retakes are scheduled for next Thursday, October 25th. Please email your student’s teacher if they will be retaking their picture. More info to follow.
We are looking forward to our October PTO meeting next week. We will be presenting on our school improvement plan and work toward our equity goals. See you Tuesday night at 7pm!
