Thank you to all the parents who are volunteering for tonight's Fun Fair! This event requires a great deal of planning and time. Please remember there is no drop off at this event. All parents are responsible for attending with/supervising their children. We are looking forward to another fantastic night!
We hope that everyone is enjoying reading Wishtree with their family! Below is this upcoming week's schedule and please remember to send any photos of your family reading to Mrs. Howe at [email protected].
- February 11th: Chapters 31-34
- February 12th: Chapters 35-38
- February 13th: Chapters 39-41
- February 14th: Catch up
- February 15th: No School
If your child’s classroom will be celebrating Valentine’s Day next week, please do not send food as Valentines. As will other holidays, any food served at a celebration must be pre-approved by Nurse Rossi two weeks in advance. The food chosen should be from the approved food list. Thank you so much for your patience and cooperation in ensuring a safe celebration for all our children!
Time is running out to complete this year’s Illinois 5Essentials Survey! This is a unique opportunity to not only provide feedback to the school and district, but to support Hatch on a larger scale. It should only take approximately 10 minutes to complete. If parents have more than one child that attends the same school, they may elect to participate multiple times. For parents with children enrolled in multiple schools, we recommend that they participate in the survey for each school. We are currently in 3rd place in a friendly competition with the other D97 schools around parent participation, so please help us reach our goal. Thank you for your support!

District 97 has developed a new online Bullying Report Form that will help us improve and strengthen the culture, climate and sense of belonging in our schools. The concept and several aspects of this form were based on a reporting tool that one of our middle school students created with the help of a few administrators and his peers.
Students, staff members and families can use the form at any time to report a conflict or behavior that they feel is disruptive, hostile or makes a student feel unsafe. They can also communicate how they want the reported concern to be addressed. This may include speaking with the social worker, administrative intervention, mediation, etc. Any information shared via the form will be automatically and immediately sent to a designated school staff member for review and response.
While having the names of the people who complete the form and/or were involved in an incident will enable us to more effectively address a reported conflict or behavior, providing that information is not required.
The Bullying Report Form is accessible in several locations on the district's family of websites, including the drop-down menu under the section titled Students that is located in the main navigation on every page, as well as in the quick links that are featured in the colored text boxes on the left side of each school site.
Outside the art room our students have been working on a chalk mural of inspirational quotes in connection to our student council call to action this year (#DoSomething). The quotes have to do with kindness, growth mindset, and mindfulness. Please take a look as you visit for Fun Fair tonight!
