We had a short but productive week at Hatch! The students have enjoyed wrapping up our Wishtree trivia. Teachers hosted visitors from select Chicago Archdiocese schools. Principals and teachers from various elementary schools came to Hatch to see differentiation and readers’ and writers’ workshop in action. Kudos to the Hatch teachers for once again serving as a model for fellow educators!

Just a reminder that every student gets to be the first to check out a brand new library book for their birthday book! The book your child chooses, gets a name plate inside the book, a note in the library system, and a photo with the book. When your child is done reading the book, they return the book to the Hatch Library so other students can enjoy the great new book. To help keep the program going, a $20 donation is asked for each student. Please click here to see all the great books that have been added to the Hatch Library and for the donation form to complete and return to Hatch. We are having a great time watching the students' excitement over all these great new books!

Today the youngest family member is bringing home a slip of paper for your family to write a wish together to add to Hatch's wishtree on Friday, March 1st! If your family would like to make your wish on a different paper or fabric, just like in our book, you are more than welcome to do so. On Friday, March 1st as your child's class is heading to recess, they will swing by our wishtree bulletin board to add your family's wish. If your family wants to send in more than one wish you are welcome to! Thank you so much to all the families who read Wishtree with us. We really hope you enjoyed the story!

Looking forward to seeing you all at the PTO meeting, next Tuesday, February 26th at 7pm in the library!
