IAR Testing Starts Next Week!

Our students will take the Illinois Assessment of Readiness on March 11th- March 22nd.

  • 3rd grade  March 11th- March 13th
  • 4th grade  March 13th- March 18th
  • 5th grade  March 19th- March 22nd

**Don’t forget to send your child in with headphones if they don’t already have them at school.***

Students should make every effort to be present and on time to school during the testing window. Should an illness or unforeseen absence occur, the student will participate in make-up testing. Parents, please assist your child in being prepared for testing. Eating breakfast and being well-rested will help your student to do his or her best. Discussing the importance of the test while minimizing any anxieties your child may be feeling is helpful as well.

Sporks on the Loose! In an effort to reduce landfill waste from our lunch rooms, D97 has eliminated the spork combo packets (spork, straw, napkin in a plastic pouch) from the lunch program at all the schools. Plastic sporks are still being used during breakfast, but now they are unbundled from the plastic pouch and reducing unnecessary waste of additional items. In addition, D97 has also stopped ordering single plastic straws. There are still some straws available in inventory for special circumstances, as needed. Thanks D97 for taking a green step in the right direction!

Don’t forget to move your clocks ahead this weekend for daylight savings time!
