Thank you also to all the parents who came out for our Spring Arts Fiesta! Our students gave amazing performances and worked so hard on their artwork. We are very lucky to have such dedicated staff, who make these experiences possible for our children. Thank you also to those parents who came out for our last PTO meeting and to all of our parents who volunteered this year. They say it takes a village. What an amazing village we have here!

As the weather turns warmer, it has been great to see our students getting out into the garden. Our “Hatch Patch” offers a unique outdoor education experience that has so many benefits for our children. As we head into the last weeks of the year we have a number of events and celebrations to be aware of. Please continue to check our PTO reminders and mark your calendars.

The Six Flags tickets from the “Read to Succeed” program are in!  Teachers will be sending the tickets home with their students who participated today. Be on the lookout!

This week was the last week the students check out library books here at Hatch. Please help the students remember to return all the library books by Friday, May 24th!

Our second annual Hatch Career Day is rapidly approaching and we need YOUR experiences! Whether you are a nurse, mechanic, astronaut, custodian or business owner- we need you! We are looking for a variety of people interested in spending a morning of “show and tell” surrounding their career. Many of our students are unaware of the career opportunities available to them and this is a fantastic way to provide them with first hand knowledge of potential paths. This is also a great way for you to get involved and make an impact on a students’ future. If you are not interested but know someone who is, please give them (or us) the necessary contact information. Hatch Career Day is Thursday, May 30th from 7:30 a.m. - 10:00 a.m. broken into two segments.  Session 1 is from 8:15 a.m. - 9:00 a.m. and Session 2 is from 9:15 a.m. - 10:00 a.m. If requested arrangements can be made to have you speak to your child’s classroom. We are looking forward to a fun-filled morning of new experiences! Please sign up here!

All documents required for proving residency and completing the online registration process must be submitted to the district by August 1, 2019. Students will not be placed on a class list or have middle school schedules generated until the registration process is complete.

Information about registration is available on the district website at https://www.op97.org/hr/student-registration. If you have any questions regarding this process, please email [email protected] or call the district office at 708-524-3000.

On June 5th, Hatch school will be hosting our annual Field Day extravaganza! This year, Field Day will be divided into a morning and an afternoon session. Throughout the day, our awesome students will be placed into mixed grade level groups and along with a staff member, will travel throughout the school playing games at a variety of different stations. Fantastic parent volunteers will be helping out by running stations for the traveling teams of students.

*Special thanks to all the people that help out to make this possible. Thank you to the over 20 volunteers that are needed to make this work, the teachers who allow us to use their classrooms and tireless administrative staff members who fill in the gaps to make this a fun and worthwhile event ☺ Please see the sign up link to volunteer! https://signup.com/go/wxZhCJV

As we prepare for the many end of the year activities that our students will participate in, please keep in mind that any food served to Hatch students must be pre-approved 2 weeks in advance with our school nurse, Ms. Rossi. You can reach her at [email protected].
