Kudos to Ms. Martin, Mr. Jacobson, Ms. Howe and our team of teachers who organized this year’s talent show! It was a wonderful way for students to showcase their wide variety of talents with peers and strengthen our student community as we close out the year. We are so proud of our young performers! We are also grateful to our teachers who gave up their lunches, planning periods and personal time to make this and other opportunities possible for our little ones this year.

Thank you so much for participating in this year’s CAN DO Community Challenge.  Hatch is the winner of the district wide competition with 28,107 points this year. That’s enough to provide 6,771 meals!

Two Oak Park Public Librarians visited Hatch on Tuesday to talk about the summer reading program offered at the library this summer. The program starts on June 1st and is open to anyone! Please consider bringing your children to visit any branch of the library and participate in this great reading program to help keep your child reading over the summer. For more information click here.

Here is the first round of 5th grade Hatch Steel Band videos up on youtube.  We are all very proud of the 5th graders this year!

Returning student registration is now open online for students who are returning to District 97 for the 2019-20 school year. All documents required for proving residency and completing the online registration process must be submitted to the district by August 1, 2019. Students will not be placed on a class list or have middle school schedules generated until the registration process is complete. Information about registration is available on the district website at https://www.op97.org/hr/student-registration. If you have any questions regarding this process, please email [email protected] or call the district office at 708-524-3000.

New Student Registration-We will be holding four registration events this summer for new District 97 students who will be enrolling in grades K-8 for the 2019-20 school year. You can access additional information about these events and the new student registration process by visiting http://bit.ly/2VKQNkP.

All the students that had a birthday in May had the opportunity to come to the library on their birthday and check out a brand new hardcover book! After they are done reading the book, it gets returned to the library so other students can enjoy the book but a special sticker is placed inside the book to honor their birthday. Take a look here to see all the May Birthday kids. If you haven't done so already, please consider making a donation to keep the program going! Thank you!

All Hatch library books were due today, May 24th! Mrs. Howe sent emails to those families who still have books checked out. Please return the books to the Hatch library on Tuesday!

Since students can no longer check out books from the Hatch library, we are so lucky on Wednesday, May 29th, to have the Oak Park Public Library Book Bike visiting Hatch @ 2:30 on the playground! The book bike offers families the opportunity to check out books from the bike and then return them to any Oak Park Public Library when you are done enjoying the book.
