It’s hard to believe we are in the last weeks of school.  As we wrap up this school year, we are especially loving the buzz of childrens’ voices in our classrooms and hallways that we didn’t get to experience last year.  We are continuing to learn from this experience and reflect on this journey as we plan for the future!

Our district will once again be partnering with BrightBytes, an educational research and analytics organization, to learn more about our schools’ technology use for student learning. To better show our growth over the past year and showcase the impact of our initiatives, we’ve made a commitment to re-collect. We are reaching out to ask you to take part in our parent questionnaire. Your participation is essential in helping us form a more complete picture of technology use for learning in our students’ lives. Please know that all of your responses will remain anonymous to protect your privacy. Your answers will help our district evaluate areas of strength and areas of improvement. It will take approximately 20-30 minutes to complete.

The last day to complete this questionnaire is Friday, June 4, 2021.

The Hatch Patch Volunteer Team has started planting and caring for the beds. A few reminders to share with your Tigers who may be checking out the activity:

  • Remember to stay on the paths as the beds have new seeds and plants that need space to grow.
  • Pollinators are around! Bugs and butterflies are fun to watch but be extra careful with the bees. The Hatch Patch has turned into an amazing pollinator system and there is a ground hive of bumblebees in Hatch Patch. They usually are not aggressive, but don’t push them. The Hatch Patch team is looking to safely relocate them as soon as possible.

Thank you to all our volunteers who worked so hard already to get the Hatch Patch growing again!

As part of our One Book One School celebration we will be holding a Book Trailer contest. The contest is open to all Hatch students, with submissions due no later than June 7, 2021. Please see the attached flyer for details!

Hatch Library Books We hope that everyone has enjoyed reading their Hatch Library books as book checkout is done for the school year.  If you could please look around your house and return all Hatch Library books back to Hatch by the end of May, we'd greatly appreciate it!

  • Remote students can turn their books into the book drop in front of Hatch School by the Main Office at any time.
  • In Person students can please bring their books back on their library day.

Career Day 2021! The DivCo team is holding their career day virtually this year! We’d like to have 2 speakers from each class speak for about 20 minutes followed by a 10 minute Q&A. Being virtual will have its benefits as guest speakers can be remote and login to students' zooms, opening up opportunities for parents who might not have been able to participate otherwise. It's a 30 minute commitment (via zoom), June 8th either 8:30-9 or 9:00-9:30am.  Details and Sign Ups can be made via this sign up genius link: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/508084DA5A929AA8-hatch1

We hope you all enjoy the long weekend!  There is no school on Monday, May 31st, in observance of Memorial Day.  We will resume our learning schedules on Tuesday, June 1st.

Finish Strong: Help Us Keep D97 Safe

As COVID-19 continues to impact our community, it is critical that we remain vigilant in our efforts to keep District 97 schools safe.

The decisions we make in the coming days have a direct impact on our ability to maximize in-person learning for our students. Whether you are vaccinated or unvaccinated, we all have a responsibility to follow ALL safety guidelines set by state and local health departments in order to reduce potential spread of the virus.

With this in mind, please help us "Stay Safe and Finish Strong."

  • If you are sick, STAY HOME.
  • Wear a face mask or covering at all times while at school.
  • Maintain social distancing (6 feet, as much as possible).
  • Wash or sanitize your hands often.
  • Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue.
