Many thanks to everyone who attended our Curriculum Night! We had a wonderful turnout and have received overwhelmingly positive feedback from both parents and teachers. Our dedicated teachers did a fantastic job. If you were not able to make it to Curriculum Night, please feel free to contact your child’s teacher for the information you missed.

Below is the link for the Curriculum Night slides for Hatch Specials, Special Education, and Support Staff. Feel free to take a look if you missed them on curriculum night!

Thank you also to those parents who joined me virtually for “Coffee with the Principal.” It was great to connect and hear such great questions. Our next session will include a visit from Nurse Rossi. Stay tuned for a date and time!

In order to better plan our instructional practices for individual student needs, we implement a number of assessments throughout the year. Next week begins MAP testing for 2nd-5th graders as well as Fountas and Pinnell Benchmark testing for all students.  For more information please visit our D97 Teaching and Learning Department’s page on assessment.

As we get into the swing of things, please ensure your child has a mask that fits. We have noticed some of our students constantly trying to keep their mask on their nose which is distracting and not in keeping with our masking guidelines. Please also note that gaiters are not allowed and a student's masks should fit securely. Masking is one of the most important mitigation strategies we have for kids. We appreciate your attention in supporting our safety protocols!

Lost and Found:  Please remember to label all items that come into the building.  If it’s lost, we can route the items to the students.  If it’s not labeled, the items will go into the lost and found,

which students can check periodically.

Fall picture day will take place next Friday, September 10, 2021.  Pictures will be taken outside this year and all students will be photographed individually.  No payment is needed at that time.  See attached flyer for more information.

As is the case each year, I receive a multitude of emails and phone calls from parents during the first week.  I am doing my best to prioritize the various needs and return each message as quickly as possible.  Please know your message is important to me, and I will continue to work through the weekend to address concerns as quickly as possible.  Thank you in advance for your patience.  If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact our teachers, office staff, or support staff.  We are looking forward to another amazing year at Hatch!
