The 2021 Turkey Trot was a huge success! It was wonderful to see everyone participating in the annual festivities!  Thank you also to our parent volunteers and Mr. Cruz for making this event possible.

As we approach the Thanksgiving holiday, I am reminded now more than ever how lucky we are to have one another and to be part of a community that goes above and beyond to support our children.  Please take a moment to express to your child’s teacher something they may have done for your child that you are grateful for.  Maybe they have put a great deal of thought into how to push or support your child academically.  Maybe they gave your child extra encouragement or a hug when they needed reassurance.  There are countless ways I see our teachers caring for our children without even realizing it.  It is part of what makes our school such a special place!  I personally am grateful to be a part of such a unique and caring community where putting children first is a daily reality.  I am thankful for every child, parent, and staff member who makes that reality possible!

Once again I am pleased to report that we had zero positive cases of covid this week. We are now approaching Thanksgiving and have only had 2 confirmed cases of Covid all year.  As you know, this is not the case in other schools and districts both in our area and across the country.  Your support in following all mitigation strategies have been paramount to our success as we look forward to our students being fully vaccinated.  Thank you!

Lunch Supervisors- We are still in need of a supervisor for Mrs. Martin’s classroom on Mondays and Fridays.  The lunch hour is 10:55-11:55. District 97 is hiring lunchroom supervisors to support our return to school. Lunch supervisors would assist with setting up, serving and cleanup. CLICK HERE to apply.

Mark your calendars- Anderson Bookfair starts December 1st! This year's fall book fair is completely virtual and is with a new local company, Anderson Bookfairs, https://www.abcfairs.com/about-us . Information should be coming home with students soon...stay tuned for teacher wish lists and more details in the future. You will have the option to ship to the school or directly to your house.  If you order before December 15th, you should receive books at the school before Winter Break! If anyone has questions, they can contact Beth Sauers at [email protected].

Just a reminder that we do not have indoor space to allow students to safely enter the building prior to their entrance time in the event of rain or inclement weather. Please have your child arrive at their line as close to their time as possible just as we did last year. Thank you!

Please be sure that your child brings what they need for school each day.  Due to the No Visitor Policy, please refrain from bringing forgotten items to school until further notice.  We can supply lunches, bottled water and masks if a student forgets to bring those to school on occasion.

Next week we will bring the Lost and Found out to the front of the building. Please take a moment to check for any items your child may have misplaced. All items not claimed will be donated to families in need after Thanksgiving. Also, please write your child’s name in any item that might find its way to the office.

There is no school on Wednesday, November 24th through Friday, November 26th, due to the Thanksgiving holiday. School will resume on Monday November 29th. On behalf of Hatch faculty and staff, we want to wish you all a safe and Happy Thanksgiving!
