Expectations for D97 Students and Staff Who Travel Out of State

Avoiding unnecessary travel remains paramount to maintaining the health and safety of our students, staff, families, and the broader community—particularly when students are attending school in-person. In cases where travel is necessary, it is expected that students and staff will adhere to the revised travel quarantine guidelines.

If a student/staff member travels to an ORANGE state and they are not fully vaccinated, they must complete a 10-day quarantine or obtain a negative PCR test result no longer than 72 hours prior to returning. Evidence of the negative result must be submitted to the school nurse or immediate supervisor at least 24 hours prior to entering a D97 building.

Families should call the school attendance line on or before April 5 to report that their child will be remote—either for the full 10 days or until PCR test results are provided to the school. In either case, the school nurse will need to approve the return.
