Curriculum Updates

During the past week:

Handwriting - We continued with cursive. No new lesson this week.

Phonics - We reviewed diphthongs ou and ow and compound words.

Reading - We are getting ready for book clubs!

Writing - We began our opinion writing unit and wrote about our favorite subject in school. No, recess doesn't count. ;) We practiced stating our opinions, providing reasons for our opinions and restating our opinions. 

Math - We took our Module 6 test and began Module 7: Problem Solving with Length, Money, and Data. Please look through the Topic A Newsletter to see how you can help at home.

Social Studies - In preparation for our Kindness Market, we learned about Goods and Services. Ask your child to tell you what they are and to provide examples!

Science - No new lesson this week.
