MTSS Resources for Families

Math:

  • Kindergarten Students: Continue working on identifying and writing numbers 0-10. Printable flashcards are linked below. Count up and back from numbers within 0-20. Use a regular deck of cards to play "Top It" - Divide cards between two players, flip over your top card at the same time, whoever has the larger card wins that pair. Pick one math fluency game from below to play each day. Continue to work on Dreambox app if you have an avialble device. Info is linked on the right.
  • First Grade Students: Continue working on making ten in a variety of ways. Use coins, paperclips or other small objects to make a set of ten and find all of the ways to separate them into ways to make ten (ie 2+8, 1+9). Try to do this with other landmark numbers. Continue work on identifying and comparing numbers 0-100. Printable flashcards are linked below. Pick one math fluency game from below to play each day.   • Second Grade: Continue working on making ten in a variety of ways.   • Third Grade Students: Continue working on place value. Use arrow cards linked below to build numbers. An adult can say the number 0-1,000 and the student can build it. Discuss what each number is worth (ie in 2,346 ask what the numeral 3 is worth, pull out the arrow card to confirm 300). View printable word problems below. Be sure to circle the known, relevant numbers and underline any words that help you decide which operation to use. Utilize picture and number tree strategies to help you solve.
