1:1 iPads and Canvas Status & FAQs

We are quickly approaching the end of our first year with 1:1 iPads and Canvas! Teachers have continued to receive professional development on incorporating Canvas into their learning environments and the focus remains on publishing class assignments and general course content. Our use of Canvas is continuing to allow students to access course content electronically, turn in work via the iPad, collaborate with classmates, create content to show their understanding and communicate with classmates and staff.

As teachers have continued their own professional learning with the tool, Brooks and Julian were happy to welcome representatives from Canvas in January. This was a great opportunity for the experts to hear about our successes and challenges in order to come up with solutions and next steps for the future. The Canvas team spent time with staff, students and parent discussing our experiences with the tool. We are encouraged by many of the plans in development with Canvas that are geared toward K-12 students.

We have also spent time with staff and students discussing our road map for next year. So much learning has gone on this year with Canvas and we are excited to be able to use what we have learned to better align our practices for next year.
