Student Ambassadors were chosen by filling out an application.They were able to go their feeder schools and welcome the class of 2028.

Incoming 6th Grade/New Student Summer Information
- Math placement letters will be sent home in Summer 2025.
- Student Schedules will be emailed one week prior to the start of school.
- Wellness Physical and Sports Physical must be turned in by first day of school.
- Dental exam form Illinois law requires all students in kindergarten, second, sixth, and ninth grade or any new student new to Illinois schools, to have a complete dental examination by May 15 of that school year.

- New Families: After you register, you need to contact Brooks Office to make course selections.
Middle School Connection Program
As we gear up for the upcoming school year, we are excited to announce a special opportunity for our incoming sixth-graders! “District 97 Middle School Connection” is a three-day program designed to help ease the transition from elementary to middle school. This program will take place at Brooks Middle School from August 12-14, 2025, from 9 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. All incoming sixth-graders are welcome and encouraged to attend, though attendance is not mandatory. Please register using the personalized link that was sent to your email via D97 Core Instruction. If you cannot locate the email or if you are a new family, please reach out to [email protected] and include the name of your student(s). We will then forward your personal link to sign up.
New School Year August Welcome Events
Our student and family Welcome Event will be held over two evenings. During these opportunities, your student will receive the following information: bus route (if applicable), student locker/lock assignment, opportunity for your student to walk their schedule and place school supplies in their locker, pick up student ID, meet PTO and learn about extra-curriculuar opportunities. Incoming 6th grade and new students will get a Brooks T-shirt from our PTO, and will pick up a Chromebook and return their iPad (if they are a returning student).
Students can come alone or with their family. You should plan to spend 30-60 minutes, if your student plans to walk their schedule.
6th Grade and New Families Welcome Event: TBD
- Brooks T-shirt will be given to all incoming 6th graders and new students (Stop by the PTO table)
- IPads from 5th grade will be collected and Chromebooks will be distributed to 6th graders and new students.
7th & 8th Grade Welcome Event: TBD
**It is preferred that you attend on the designated night for your student as we are distributing lockers and locks as well as IDs, but if you are unable to attend during the assigned day, we will accommodate. Please email Dr. Gildon ([email protected]) for more information.
Organizational Tools
- Student Work Organizer to be used by students to help them monitor and review in PowerSchool their late/missing assignments or identify lower assessment scores for redos/retakes.
