Brooks 6th graders in Ms. Dean's humanities classes and Ms. Murray's Arts and Culture classes have collaborated on writing, illustrating, and producing a book this school year. The book is called Celebration Time! and informs readers about events celebrated in different cultures throughout the world. The book is just about to be published and available for sale! All proceeds from the sale of the book will benefit The Peace Corner Youth Center, a community center in Chicago's Austin neighborhood. The nonprofit organization provides a safe haven from gang violence and drug activity, an after school program for children, job training and placement for young adults, and GED classes.
