We are each other's harvest; we are each other's business;
we are each other's magnitude and bond." - Gwendolyn Brooks
Brooks Middle School and Oak Park embody this quote. As we grow as a staff, we will grow as a community. The "Mile in the Middle" Race and the 6th Grade Night Out are great events that show how important we are to each other.
Institute Day- No School (10/9)
Friday, October 9, is a non-school day for students as the teachers will be in an all-day professional development.
Columbus Day - No School (10/12)
Monday is a non-school day for all for the observance of Columbus Day.
Some of Our "Teacher/Learner" Work
We are a learning community at Brooks. As professionals, we spend a great deal of time fine tuning what we do to improve student outcomes. We are currently defining task complexity as a staff and looking at each other's work to ensure that we are challenging students. We also recently completed a curriculum map across each grade level so that we can see more opportunities to make better learning connections across the school day for students.
Allow Me to Introduce...
