Good Afternoon Brooks Families:
We are approaching the last week in September. I hope that you and your student have enjoyed the first month of school because we certainly have. Our girls basketball season is underway, we held vocal ensemble and jazz ensemble auditions, hosted the Young Americans, took school pictures, had curriculum night, and so much more. October is going to be equally as exciting so hold on to your seats!
Hand Foot & Mouth
Hand, foot and mouth disease (HFMD) is a common infection caused by a group of viruses. It typically begins with a fever and feeling generally unwell. This is followed a day or two later by flat discolored spots or bumps that may blister, on the hands, feet, and mouth, and occasionally buttocks and groin. There are a few cases here in Oak Park. To help prevent the spread of the virus, please remind your students to wash their hands thoroughly after using the rest room and sanitize toys and other hard surfaces in your home.
Society of Women Engineers
Do your daughter like engineering? Do they want to learn more about the fields within it? See the flyer attached for this opportunity for middle school girls at the University of Illinois at Urbana on October 3rd.
Student IDs
Now that the sports season is upon us...students need IDs to get in at the games and they need 50 cents. Students without IDs will not be allowed to attend the game. Students are also not allowed to leave and get snacks at Dollar Tree and then come back and go to the game (feel free to word that however you like). Students attending the game should be there by 3:40 pm.
Student Advisory Board
We are looking for student leaders to join our Student Advisory Board. We know how important student voice is and want to make sure that they are heard. If your student is interested, please have them check their Canvas page or click HERE!
