Brooks Families:
Now that you have completed the first round of conferences...what does the next 30 weeks of school look like for your student? I encouraged parents to read this article last year to get some inspiration!
Conference Feedback
Thank you so much for your continued support of education and relationship building. Conferences are so important and we are glad you take them serious. Please take a moment to give us feedback with this brief survey.
Monster Mash Bash:
The annual Monster Mash Bash is this Friday (10/28) from 6:30 - 9pm in the commons. Tickets are on sale in the Bravo office and during lunch this week. No tickets are sold at the door and students must have their ID to attend. Tickets are $8.
Halloween:
Please be mindful that we strongly discourage the wearing of costumes for Halloween that stereotype, demean or make fun of other people - especially of other cultures. Please talk with your students about the importance of respecting others and discourage them from "dressing like" Native Americans (a very frequent "costume") and others. Students cannot wear anything that covers their face nor can they have "props" that look like a weapon.
Community Blanket Drive:
The OPRF Community Blanket Drive will take place from October 24 through November 3. Please bring new or gently used blankets and sleeping bags to the Gwendolyn Brooks office where there will be a drop box. Please see the attached flyer for more details.
