Brooks Families:
We are ready to start this trimester off with a bang! Last week we gave students a survey to help us to better understand their needs around Academic Personalism and Trust. We also surveyed staff to get a pulse on our level of Collective Efficacy. As a school and a district we are working to improve our level of service to students, teachers and the community. Thank you for continuing to be part of this work!
Stay Connected!
Ms. Dean's site is very helpful and has tons of tips to help you stay on top your student's academics.
Got Stories?
We have some great things happening in Brooks and D97...we want to hear your stories because your voice matters. If you have stories that inspire please share them HERE.
Grade Distribution
We will send Trimester 1 grades home with students on Friday December 9th.
Spoken Word at Brooks!
Our 7th graders will be starting their poetry unit this trimester. This was such a success last year and we are excited for the Poetry Slam this year. We will be dedicating this slam to honor the approaching 100th Birthday of our dear Gwendolyn Brooks.
For 8th Grade Families:
OPRFHS administers tests for freshman year course recommendations in English, Math, Science, History, and World Language. Eighth grade residents of Oak Park and River Forest who intend to enroll in the ninth grade year at OPRFHS are required to take the tests, except that students who take the DLM instead of PARCC typically do not take the tests.
8th grade testing this year will take place at OPRFHS on Saturday, December 3, and Saturday, December 10, 2016.
