Middle Matters Week of Dec. 5th 2016

Brooks Parents

"Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world." - Nelson Mandela

This memorable quote from the South African Leader, Anti-Apartheid and Human Rights Activist is a wonderful reminder about power of education. As a school community we have been reflecting on our purpose and role in supporting positive academic and life outcomes for our students. We are grateful for your partnership and proud to serve.

5 Essential Survey

The 5 Essentials is based on 20 years of research on schools and what are the factors that make them successful. Students, teachers, and parents are given the survey each year and the results give schools and district an idea of how well they are organized for improvement. For more information, please see this letter . Please complete this survey by January 16th.

Grade Distribution

Students will be given their Trimester 1 grades this friday (December 9th).

  • We have 5 part-time Interventionists working with students in danger of academic failure.
  • We are looking at task complexity, mastery objectives and lesson clarity in our adult learning.
