6th Grade Night out, Reflections results, ILMEA Music Festival
Brooks Families:
What a great time to be a Chicagoan! The city was full of energy and pride last week...and the river was actually blue. I can't hardly believe that in my lifetime, all the Chicago teams have won a championship. This is a great city full of champions. Thanks for letting us help mold your future champions!

Katie Dean and Anna Kinnaman will be presenting information around Canvas and Powerschool. This is a great opportunity to ask questions and learn how you can use technology to support organization and have conversations about effort.

Calling all 6th grade families! This Thursday is a great opportunity for you to meet new parents and students. The shift to middle school can feel like a big move for students...and parents!

ILMEA Music Festival
Saturday, November 5, 2016 the Illinois Music Educators Association Elementary and Junior High Division will hosted it's annual District I Music Festival at Lincoln-Way Central High School in New Lenox. The festival will involve over 500 students selected from more than 60 schools throughout the southwestern metropolitan Chicago area.
The Festival Band, Chorus and Orchestra will present a public Festival Finale Concert to be held at 3:00 PM in the Lincoln-Way Central HS Field House. Admission to the concert is $5.00. Children under 6 will be admitted free of charge. Appearing in concert will be the 150 member festival band, 100 piece festival orchestra and the festival chorus numbering over 150 voices.
Participating students from Brooks Middle School include: Band: Laly Acosta, Zachary Buchta, Leo Klem, Lauren Kocheny, Samuel Shafiro, William Shepelak Orchestra: Jay Ahn, Sophia Andrews, Amanda Janusz, Caroline Kansa, Evan Kirkpatrick Chorus: Jaiden Brown
ILMEA Jazz Festival (11/12)
Saturday, November 12, 2016 the Illinois Music Educators Association Junior & Senior High Divisions will hold it's annual District I Jr./Sr. Jazz Festival at Thornridge High School in Dolton, IL. The final concert for the Jr. Level Honors Jazz Bands is at 2:30 p.m., followed by the High School Level Concerts, starting at 3:00 p.m. Admission to the concert is $5.00. Children under 6 will be admitted free of charge.
Laly Acosta and Nathaniel Lee will be representing Brooks Middle School in the Jr. Level Honors Bands.
