Another great week in the books at Brooks. Students are learning about elements of beauty in integrated studies, using equations to solve problems in math, learning about Edgar Allen Poe in language arts, writing cognates in world language, learning about the Industrial Revolution in Humanities, and so much more. Thanks to all of you who came to last week's PTO meeting. I was able to share some of my goals with the PTO during the meeting. and the work I plan to do over the years. Check out the meeting minutes.

BRAVO Performs at the International Baccalaureate Conference
The BRAVO! program at Brooks was honored to be asked to open the International Baccalaureate World Conference on July 23, 2015, in Chicago. 24 students from BRAVO performed Step in Time and Supercalifragilistic in full costume from BRAVO’s spring show, Mary Poppins. Students and staff from BRAVO were proud to have had this incredible opportunity to represent Gwendolyn Brooks Middle School, District 97 and Oak Park, sharing their talent and enthusiasm for musical theater with educators from all around the world.
Meet the Brooks Staff
Each week, I will "introduce you" to a couple teachers/staff members. They will share some fun details about themselves as well as a brief bio and what IB Learner trait they most identify with. This week, I would like you to meet Ms. Zaragoza (Spanish) and Ms. Perros (Speech/Drama/Debate).
