Message from January 17, 2020

Just a reminder that this Monday, January 20th, there will be NO SCHOOL for students in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

Tuesday morning, we will have our January PTO meeting at 8am in the cafeteria. Ms. Polley will be sharing information about the various assessments we use to measure student progress and ways you can support the learning at home!

Please be sure to complete this year’s Illinois 5Essentials Survey! This is a unique opportunity to not only provide feedback to the school and district, but to support Hatch on a larger scale. School-level reports will be generated if at least 20 percent of parents respond to the survey. We are currently at 14%. It should only take approximately 10 minutes to complete. If parents have more than one child that attends the same school, they may elect to participate multiple times. For parents with children enrolled in multiple schools, we recommend that they participate in the survey for each school. Thank you for your support!

The Hatch Student Council will be raising money for The World Wildlife Fund of Australia as part of their January Spirit Day. Anyone who brings a donation of a dollar or more can wear pajamas on Friday, January 24, and know that they’re helping the continent of Australia and the surviving creatures there. Almost 1 billion animals have been lost due to the wildfires, and hundreds of thousands more have been injured, lost their habitats, or been displaced. Please send in donations for the  WWF- Australia anytime during the week of January 20-24. Thank you!

Save the date! This year's Hatch Science Fair will be held Thursday, April 23, 2020. Once again the students can choose from doing a research project, a demonstration, or an experiment. Sign up, rubrics, and descriptions of each can be found on the Hatch website by following these links:  Programs- Academic- Science Fair. Any questions can be directed to Lynda Ficca by email: [email protected]
