Trimester 1 Report Cards will be emailed home today. Please be on the lookout!

Last year our Hatch 4th graders made realistic animal portraits of Oak Park Animal Care League Shelter Animals. The portraits donated by our students helped to raise $620 for the animals this year. Kudos to our young artists!

As we enter the holiday season it is a good time to talk to our children about how fortunate we are and to empower our young learners to give back to our amazing community. Here is a resource with ideas for giving back as a family!

Holiday parties will be held in classrooms the morning of Wednesday, December 23rd. If you have questions about the holiday party, please contact the head room parent for your child’s classroom. We will also honor the holiday season together with our annual holiday sing, virtually this year! This is a wonderful opportunity for students to connect with one another as a Hatch family before the break.

Hatch Scholastic Book Fair is OPEN: December 1st - December 14th is the PTO Hatch Virtual Book Fair.  This is a wonderful way to get your holiday shopping done and support Hatch!  25% of the profits come back to Hatch. You can shop here.  Here are some fun ways to see what books look interesting:

PBIS Lunch Hangouts: The PBIS Team analyzed the Parent Feedback Survey data and saw that our students are missing social time with their peers.  We expect the cold weather & the current COVID numbers to affect the time kids have to spend with their friends. So, the PBIS team wants to provide a way for kids to hang out with each other safely. If your child is interested they can join the meeting during their grade level day. It will be the same link for each day. The password is tigers.

Continued Social-Emotional Wellness Check-Ins for Students: District 97 school psychologists and nurses have collaborated to offer access to virtual mental health wellness checks at each school this fall. Parents may sign up children for 25-minute Telehealth sessions where they can access an open ear for their sources of stress and learn self-care and coping strategies. Students may attend up to three sessions per trimester and may then be referred for other school-based supports if needed.

To sign up or learn more about these services, please visit https://bit.ly/3m3Xece.

If your child is experiencing an immediate mental health crisis, please do not use this service and instead call the Thrive 24-Hour Crisis Hotline at 708-383-7500. You may also refer to this local resource guide created by the Community Mental Health Board of the Oak Park Township.
