Dear Hatch Families,

Thank you to our amazing teachers and to all our parents who participated in conferences this week.  This year has presented many challenges, but what remains consistent is our collaboration and dedication to student learning.  Thank you for partnering with us in that work!

Thank you also to everyone for their patience and cooperation these last few weeks.  As teachers and students are beginning to settle into this new normal, we are grateful to have families that support this heavy lifting.  The success of our schools is dependent on the efforts of our entire community.  Let’s continue to follow all the safety procedures so we can keep Covid out and kids in!

As District 97 continues planning for Trimester 3, we want to hear from you!  We're hosting a Tele-Town Hall on Monday, March 1, at 7 p.m., to share updates and offer staff and families a chance to weigh in.  All you need to do is answer your phone!

CLICK HERE to register today, and include the best phone number to reach you.

How it works:

Staff and families register using the link above.

All registrants will receive a phone call at the scheduled time.

If the call is unanswered, Tele-Town Hall will make one additional attempt.

If the registered participant is unreachable, a recording of the session will be made available.

Call participants will have the opportunity to weigh in on important topics regarding the return to school in Trimester 3.

During the afternoon on Monday, 3/1, we will be playing a pre-recorded show for all 3rd-5th grade students entitled "Race and Song: A Musical Conversation."  The show was created by Grammy nominated musicians and storytellers Alastair Moock and Reggie Harris.  Students will get to watch the pre-recorded show, and also talk live with the musicians on Zoom.  The show is designed for upper elementary, but is valuable and accessible for anyone in the Hatch community to watch and discuss.  With support from Divco, the PTO has purchased a license for us to view the program and also access some supplemental materials through the link below until 3/12.  We encourage all families to watch the show and discuss the content at home.  This license is for the Hatch community alone.  Please do not share it with anyone outside of Hatch.

Please be sure to complete this year’s Illinois 5Essentials Survey!  This is a unique opportunity to not only provide feedback to the school and district, but to support Hatch on a larger scale. School-level reports will be generated if at least 20 percent of parents respond to the survey.  It should only take approximately 10 minutes to complete.  If parents have more than one child that attends the same school, they may elect to participate multiple times.  For parents with children enrolled in multiple schools, we recommend that they participate in the survey for each school. Thank you for your support!
