D97 Isolation/Quarantine Update - Jan. 14, 2022

D97 Isolation/Quarantine Update - Jan. 14, 2022

Dear District 97 Staff and Families,

As anticipated, the Illinois State Board of Education issued Revised Public Health Guidance for Schools on Tuesday evening. The new guidance incorporates the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) reduction in isolation and quarantine to 5 days for those who test positive for COVID-19 or who are close contacts to a positive case.

The Oak Park Department of Public Health officially adopted the new guidelines for schools on Thursday. As a result, District 97 will utilize the reduced isolation and quarantine times, effective immediately. District 97 Guidance for Isolation and Quarantine

Anyone whose isolation or quarantine began on or before Thursday, Jan. 13 (Day 1), may return to school on Tuesday, Jan. 18, as long as they meet the conditions described in the charts below. Day 0 is the first day of symptoms or positive test, or the date of last exposure for close contacts. Individualized communication will be sent to those who begin isolation or quarantine on or after Friday, Jan. 14.

Per state guidelines, all students and staff returning to school must wear a well-fitted mask around others for days 6 to 10, including outdoors. Masks continue to be required for all students and staff during school hours.

Sincerely,

Dr. Griff Powell and Dr. Patricia Wernet
Co-Interim Superintendents
