Jayme Barnard
Band Teacher
Elementary band teacher at Hatch and Whittier Elementary Schools, and small group lessons at Julian Middle School. Mr. Barnard has taught in Oak Park District 97 for 18 years, starting at Brooks Middle School. He has been recognized twice in the Who's Who Among America's Teachers, is a recipient of the Those Who Excel Award from the Illinois State Board of Education, and has been a guest clinician and adjudicator for the Illinois Music Educators and Missouri Music Educators Associations.
Mr. Barnard retired as a musician in the U.S. Air Force Band program after 32 years of service in the Air National Guard. Mr. Barnard also has prior experience as a freelance professional musician in the Chicago and St. Louis metropolitan areas.
Besides raising his family, Mr. Barnard likes to compose and arrange music for his students and fellow music teachers.
