Reading contract/ Expectations
· 5x weekly 20 minutes a day
· Record reading on Reading Log
Complete Spelling City lessons on Words Their Way word sorts by Friday of each week
Annotate nightly with Post-its or a notebook: ( 3 a day)
Pay attention to:
· Characters- Traits, motivations, relationships, life lessons
· Plot- How do events that happen later connect to earlier ones?
· Setting- What is the mood? What changes occurred? How does the setting affect character?
· Repeating objects- Why is that object highlighted?
· Does it stand for something?
· If you make a prediction or statement about a character/ event/ setting detail, please use text evidence to support your statement
· Read like a writer! Put yourself into the story.
