Greetings Bobcats! My name is Katie Cairns, and I am so excited to be a part of the Beye Family as your Language Arts Specialist (LAS)! This is my 21st year teaching in Oak Park District 97. I have degrees in Education and English Literature from Dominican University as well as a masters in Reading Instruction from Concordia University. I began my teaching career in the district back when Kindergarten was half day! I then moved to teach a multiage classroom of 1st and 2nd grade students with a teaching partner. I have also taught 2nd grade as well as a 3rd grade co-taught inclusion classroom with a special education teaching partner.
