Katie Kurilko

Hello! My name is Katie Kurilko. I am the traveling music teacher at Holmes and Beye Elementary, and the 2024-25 school year marks my third year teaching in Oak Park. Prior to joining D97, I spent four years teaching music in Ann Arbor, Michigan.

I hold a Bachelor of Music Education from Michigan State University, as well as a Master's degree in Educational Leadership and Policy from the University of Michigan. I am Past-President of the Michigan chapter for the Gordon Institute for Music Learning, and Level 1 certified in Orff. My goals as your child's music teacher are to provide the best possible musical environment, rich in a variety of tonalities, styles, and meters, and to lay the foundation for a lifetime of music making and enjoyment. I look forward to a great year with the Hawks and Bobcats!
