'Black Panther' Actor Mark Willis Visits Mann School

Mark Willis, an Oak Park native who recently had a role in the film "Black Panther," visited Horace Mann Elementary School on May 8.

Willis, an alumnus of Mann and Percy Julian Middle School, talked to students about his journey from Oak Park to starring as a Jabari warrior in this year's Marvel blockbuster.

After graduating from Oak Park and River Forest High School in 2009, Willis played football for the University of Wyoming, and nearly pursued a career in the NFL. He discovered his interest in acting when he returned to Chicago, and has landed parts in several television shows, including "Chicago PD," "Chicago Fire" and Empire.
