District 97 has begun the search for the next principal of Mann Elementary School. The posting is currently scheduled to close on January 2, 2020. Once it closes, the district's administrative team will review and assess all applicant information and hold quick screening interviews on January 15 or 16. The assessment will be based on the job description for the position and the candidate profile that Mann families and staff created via the surveys and focus groups. Candidates who make it through this initial screening will then be invited to participate in team interviews.
The team interviews will be the second step in the selection process. Candidates will meet with a team of staff members, a team of parents/guardians, and a team of building and District administrators that represent the diversity of Mann School. The three teams will interview each of the candidates and provide feedback based on the candidate profile. The third step of the process will be an interview with the superintendent's cabinet team. Selected candidates will then interview with Dr. Kelley at the candidate's current work location and provide a tour to Dr. Kelley and selected administrators.
The team interviews will take place on Wednesday, January 29, 2020. If you are interested in serving on the parent interview team, please complete this survey to apply. The survey will close on December 30, 2019. Everyone who applies to serve on the teams will be notified about the results of the selection process by Monday, January 6.
Team Diversity: As we assemble the teams, it is important that both of them represent the diversity of the school's students, families, and staff. With this in mind, we are requesting, but not requiring, that people please provide us with information about the racial group that best describes them and the grade level of your student(s).
Time Commitment: January 29 beginning at 7:45 AM and ending at 6:30 PM.
Pastries and coffee will be served at 7:45 with training beginning at 8:00. Interviews begin promptly at 9:00 and will be held every hour until 6:00. Lunch will be provided and will be a working lunch.
