Below are updates from the Board of Education meeting that was held on April 28, 2015.
- The board received received an update about the administration building project from STR Partners LLC. The board also approved the installation of a Variable Refrigerant Flow (VRF) HVAC system for the new building.
- The board received an update and reviewed a draft intergovernmental agreement related to the plan to install a synthetic turf field at Brooks Middle School and replace the back playing field at Julian Middle School with a turf field and sports lighting.
- The board approved several exhibits that will be posted in the Board of Education section of the district's policy manual.
- The board approved a request from Mann Elementary School for an overnight field trip that will enable a group of students to attend the Odyssey of the Mind World Finals.
- The board approved a donation request from the Holmes PTO that will expand and enhance the school's courtyard space.
- The board awarded a contract to Abbey Paving to complete ADA exterior ramp work at Hatch Elementary School and upgrades to the walkways and entryways at several other buildings.
- The board approved the district's proposed purchase and installation of a Voice Over IP system. The board also received a summary of the goals associated with this project.
- The board approved a Memorandum of Understanding with the Oak Park Teachers' Association regarding transitional salaries.
- The board approved a revised draft of the charge for the Committee for Legislative Action, Intervention and Monitoring (C.L.A.I.M.).
- The board discussed the update regarding the district's summer programming that it received during its meeting on Tuesday, April 14.
