PARCC Preliminary State Results

On Wednesday, September 16, the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) released the preliminary state level results for the PARCC assessment. The agency posted these results, along with information about the state’s new performance level threshold scores, on its website.

While some are forecasting that individual district results will mirror those of the state, we believe the proper and prudent thing to do at this time is to refrain from offering a formal opinion or reaction until after we have had the chance to review and analyze the data for our students. By doing so, we can provide our stakeholders with information that is based on fact rather than speculation or conjecture. We can also give them a more comprehensive overview and projection of student progress and performance that is based on the myriad metrics (PARCC scores, MAP data, grades, district goals, school-based action plans, teacher feedback, etc.) and local growth model we use to nurture the strengths of our students and identify opportunities where they might benefit from further assistance or attention.

We will keep the community updated on the work we are doing to help prepare our students to be college and career ready, and appreciate everyone’s continued support of our schools and the children we serve.
