Board Meeting Update - January 10

Below are updates from the Board of Education meeting that was held on Tuesday, January 10, 2016.

1. The board received a presentation about how the district is using a Multi Tiered System of Supports (MTSS), Positive Behavioral Intervention and Supports (PBIS) and Title I to support the whole child

2. The board approved the minutes from the joint board meeting on November 30, 2016, the special board meeting on December 19, 2016 and the regularly scheduled board meeting on December 20, 2016

3. The board approved the following items on the consent agenda:

4. The board approved the two referenda questions that will be placed on the ballot on April 4, 2017. The first would call for a one percent limiting rate increase totaling approximately $13.3 million and the second would call for the issuance of $57.5 million in school building bonds.

5. The board approved a motion authorizing the superintendent to begin preparing the tentative budget for Fiscal Year 2018.

6. The board approved Brooks Middle School's participation in LEAP Innovation's Pilot Network Cohort 4.

7. The board approved the district's entry into a data sharing agreement with Success of All Youth

8. The board received a report from Superintendent Kelley that featured updates on her goals and key performance indicators.

9. The board reviewed the most recent version of a draft Memorandum of Understanding between the district and Village of Oak Park regarding a "Right-Of-Way" request at Holmes Elementary School and an easement request at Hatch Elementary School. 

10. The board reviewed a draft resolution regarding the abatement of the district's working cash funds

The board reviewed an engagement letter from Chapman and Cutler LLP declaring the offer of its services to the district for the "purpose of preparing a form of Election Resolution for the submission to the voters of the district of the question of increasing the district’s limiting rate at the April 4, 2017 consolidated election."
