Rebecca Bald

My name is Rebecca Bald, and I have been on the communications team at Oak Park Elementary School District 97 since July 2021. Prior to joining the District 97 family, I spent six years as the director of communications for Marquardt School District 15. I started my career as a teacher in Chicago Public Schools before leaving to pursue a Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing from Northwestern University. I hold a Bachelor of Arts in English Language and Literature from the University of Michigan, as well as a Master of Arts in Teaching (English Language Arts) from National-Louis University. 

In my role as the communications and engagement manager, I oversee the day-to-day maintenance of the district’s family of websites. I also assist with the management of district's social media accounts, help to write and edit school and district-level communications and work to highlight the wonderful things that are happening in District 97 schools, with a special focus on our middle schools.
