I hope everyone is doing well and was able to make the most out of our unusual Spring Break! I sent out a message in our Google Classroom pages for this week's lessons. Everyone can also click on the links below for a quick reference.
Students can continue recording videos of our exercises out of our Measures of Success Book and submit them into each Google Classroom assignment. Again, students should skip the exercises they have already completed. Families should see a sticker next to each exercise that is already completed. I expect that most students will need another week or two to complete all of these videos.
For any students that have completed all of their videos already, they can move forward to our Solo Project, which we plan to introduce next week. This has also been shared in the Google Classoom sites, however below are quick links to these projects.
Our D97 Elementary Band Teachers have started the process of creating tutorial videos for all of our band students to provide some extra help for students at home. Each video is approximately 5 minutes or less and covers 1-2 exercises from our Measures of Success book. We plan to have all of these videos up and running by the middle of the week and students and families can access these videos by CLICKING HERE. A huge thank you goes out to our D97 Elementary Band Directors for putting together these videos!
Mr. Barnard (Hatch & Whittier): Clarinet, Bells & Snare Drum
Mr. Bigeck (Holmes, Irving, Mann): Flute & Alto Saxophone
Ms. Rosenblum (Beye): Trombone & Euphonium
Ms. Vogt (Lincoln & Longfellow): Trumpet
D97 INSTRUMENTAL MUSIC FESTIVAL POSTPONED
At this time, our concert for April 1st has been postponed due to our current situation. Fingers crossed, hopefully we may be able to substitute this event later in the spring at our home schools. In the meantime, I plan on creating videos for the students, who would like to put on their own virtual performance from home. I hope to have the videos complete by the end of the week so students can enjoy putting on a performance for their families at home.
Thanks again families for all of your support and please email me if you have questions or concerns.
