During the past few weeks, we have been investigating options for replacing Dr. Lisa Carlos, who resigned as the principal of Lincoln Elementary School on June 18. After exploring several possible solutions, we have decided to fill the position on an interim basis for the 2018-19 school year. We will post the opening both internally and externally this week, with the goal of presenting a candidate to the District 97 Board of Education during its meeting on August 14, 2018.
In terms of hiring a permanent replacement for the position, we anticipate that our search will begin after the first of the year, and will be carried out with the help of the school community. We will provide additional details about this search in the months ahead, including information about how Lincoln students, staff and families can participate in the process.
