Lincoln Town Hall Moved to Feb. 26

District 97 has important updates for families regarding the work to support Lincoln School:

As many of you may already be aware, we have been conducting an after action protocol under the consultancy of RGW Consulting, LLC, represented by Reesheda Graham Washington. This week, Ms. Graham Washington has spent several days having conversations and interviews at Lincoln with school and district staff, as well as other members of the District 97 community. This has been a process that requires a certain level of depth and patience as we seek to hear from representatives of all relevant stakeholders.

We are committed to sharing some of the impressions from this work with Lincoln stakeholders at our next town hall meeting. However, in order to give the process the time that it requires, we will need to reschedule the date of the Feb. 19 town hall to Wednesday, Feb. 26, at 7:30 p.m. at Lincoln School. The event will be attended by the district's administrative team and facilitated by Ms. Graham Washington. Her biography is included below.

The district's parent information session for families who are seeking single subject or whole grade acceleration for the 2020-21 school year will still be held Feb. 26, from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Lincoln.

We apologize for any inconvenience that this date change may cause. While we recognize and wish to honor the urgency involved in providing updates to the school community on the progress at Lincoln, we hold that priority in tandem with wanting to ensure that we are able to provide a comprehensive and robust after action report. Please be assured that we remain committed to addressing the concerns of the Lincoln community and discussing our forward progression in support of our students.

Finally, I want to acknowledge and thank our dedicated staff at Lincoln. In case you missed it, check out last week’s “What’s Up at Lincoln” newsletter to see just a few examples of all the wonderful things that are happening at the school.

Thank you again for your continued partnership and support. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact us by visiting our Let’s Talk page.

Sincerely,

Dr. Carol Kelley
Superintendent
